Vole Plague in Utah .. gardens “ravaged”, sidewalk “sinking”

This sounds like something out of an episode of “Parks and Recreation” but clearly the people of Farmington, Utah are traumatised! Lets hope the voles don’t lead to a plague of rattlesnakes …. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=20925863

Does anyone know what species these are?

Based on similar “plagues” just to the north in Idaho, I would guess these are montane voles.
