RFI: mammals around Brisbane
I will have a week in Brisbane in mid-August and I am looking for tips and stakeouts for mammals, besides information at Jon’s website. I am also interested in widespread ones – this is my first visit to the continent.

I submitted all my sightings to Jon’s site. But just as my trip was over, I learned that there is a fishing port near Brisbane where you can hand-feed wild humpback dolphins. Don’t remember the name of the place, but it should be possible to find it online.

The place Vladimir is referring to is Tin Can Bay, about 2,5 hours north of Brisbane. I easily saw two Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins there in 2010. Although the feeding can get pretty crowded (over 50 people were present when I was there…) it offers an excellent change of watching these dolphins at close quarters.
